Area World Service Committee (AWSC)
Purpose of the AWSC
The primary function of the Area World Service Committee is to plan for the general improvement of both the Assembly and the groups. These meetings, called and chaired by the Area Chairman, may be held at stated intervals to hear and discuss the Delegate’s report, to consider Area matters, to suggest items of interest for the Area newsletter, all with the purpose of informing and unifying the groups in the Area. When and where are the AWSC meetings?
AWSC meetings are held 5 times a year, in January, March, June, August, and October. The June and October AWSC Meetings are held during the Spring and Fall Assemblies. January, March, and August meetings are currently held at the Hampton Inn in Marshalltown, IA. See the Calendar tab for exact dates, times, and locations.
What to bring?
Anyone who presents an oral report during the AWSC meeting needs to provide written copies of their report for each AWSC member (approximately 35 copies). These copies are inserted into folders before the AWSC starts. It’s also a good idea to have the Iowa Area Policy Guidelines and the World Service Manual handy.
